Overview and Evidence[]
The Danbury Frog People are a family of people who allegedly live in the Connecticut town of Danbury, although some reports place them in Bethel. Named so for their frog-like appearance, the frog people are sometimes regarded as an urban legend, similar to the similar faceless people of Monroe (link above).
According to those who claim to have sighted them, the frog people are a family of shut-ins who have very frog-like features. Their eyes are said to be very far apart and are often described as large and bulging. They have thin lips and wide mouths directly below their small noses that consist purely of thin nostrils. Their heads are abnormally large, although this may simply be due to their malnourished frames.[1]
Unlike the faceless people of Monroe, there is a bit more evidence pointing towards the existence of this family. There are numerous online accounts of interactions held with them, and there are several plausible suggestions for the origins of their abnormalities. While the obvious notion of inbreeding is popular, there is little evidence of this. One of the more plausible hypotheses involves Crouzon syndrome, a rare genetic disorder whose symptoms include large round heads, bulging wideset eyes, and thin lips.[2]
