Overview and Evidence[]

The Elmendorf Beast was a canine-like creature sighted numerous times by Elmendorf, Texas resident Devin McAnally. Often compared to and associated with the Chupacabra, the animal had been sighted by McAnally stalking his farm. Coupled by the deaths of several of his chickens, McAnally concluded that the creature was dangerous and resolved to kill it. The creature was soon shot to death by McAnally.

When examining the corpse, the creature appeared to be a canine-like creature. Its seemingly malnourished frame, weighing a mere 13 pounds, was completely devoid of hair and a desaturated bluish-gray in color. The animal possessed a long pointed snout, large ears, and a long tail like that of a rat.[1]

The origin of the creature was determined rather quickly with DNA tests proving that the creature had been a feral dog of some kind. The animal's grotesque appearance and skin condition has been explained as a severe case of mange, a skin condition common in domesticated mammals caused by parasitic mites. One of the main effects fo mange, particularly the type knwon as sarcoptic mange, is severe hair loss.
